A decade in Parliament: from housing policy to campaign leadership

Hon Christopher Bishop brings over a decade of parliamentary experience to New Zealand politics, having first entered Parliament as a National Party list MP in 2014. His parliamentary career has included a stint representing the Hutt South electorate between 2017 and 2020, before returning to serve as a list MP.

Throughout his time in Parliament, Bishop has taken on significant responsibilities within the National Party, demonstrating particular expertise in housing and infrastructure policy. His roles have included serving as National spokesperson for Housing and Infrastructure and Shadow Leader of the House, whilst also leading the party's strategic direction as Chairperson of National's 2023 Election Campaign, positioning him as a key figure in shaping the party's policy agenda.
